Israel (finally) reveals its entry for Eurovision 2019

We’ve been talking about it, we’ve been teasing it, and now, it’s finally here. After weeks of intense anticipation, the big news today is the revelation of Israel’s 2019 Eurovision song, “Home” by Kobi Marimi – and it’s quite the opposite of last year’s Eurovision-winning song, “Toy”.  In case you’re one of the three people who haven’t heard it yet…ladies and gentlemen, here’s a taste of our official song entry for 2019.

Here It Is: “Home” by Kobi Marimi

The emotional, powerful ballad was released last night in Israel, and quickly made waves around the world. Most of the comments on YouTube were overwhelmingly positive. Personally, I think it’s a gorgeous song…but does it have what it takes to win the Eurovision, two years in a row? Time will tell.

Rotem Cohen impresses in NYC

Thursday night I had the opportunity to see Rotem Cohen in concert in New York City, and man, does this guy know how to throw a party! Rotem played for two hours straight, sang all of his hits, and had the audience on their feet nearly the entire time.

I had the chance to say hi to Rotem after the show, and from what I could tell, he seems like a genuinely nice guy. He stuck around the theatre for what seemed like hours, taking photos with fans and looking like he was having a ball the entire time. Rotem’s latest hit, “Baleilot”, is currently enjoying plenty of airplay on the radio in Israel.

Happy 40th Birthday, Keren Peles!

And finally, a very happy 40th birthday to singer, songwriter, and HaKochav Haba judge Keren Peles!

Keren Peles – “Mabul”

You already know that Keren is one of the most popular singers in Israeli music today. What you may not know is that she’s written several hit songs for others, including Sarit Hadad, Miri Mesika, and Harel Skaat.

Miri Mesika – “Dma’ot” (written by Keren Peles)

We love ‘ya, Keren. Happy birthday.

That’s your Israeli music news for today! Until next time, I’m Josh Shron…Al Tafsiku Lashir (don’t stop singing).
