It’s been noted many times that Kobi Marimi, Israel’s representative to Eurovision 2019, has a tendency to break down and cry on stage.

Yes, Kobi’s song “Home” is quite emotional…but, c’mon…after you’ve sung it several dozen times, you’d think the emotions would be slightly diminished, no?

Apparently not.

Kobi posted an emotional photo of himself breaking down in tears on Instagram, with the following caption in English and Hebrew:

Here I am crying.
Crying because I do not believe this moment has come.
Crying because I worked so hard.
Crying because I sing from the inside of my stomach.
Crying because the message of my song is so important.
Crying because my family is proud of me.
Crying because after many years I’m proud of myself.
Crying because there’s nothing wrong with it.
Crying because there’s nothing wrong with it.
Crying because there’s nothing wrong with it.

So here I am crying.
Cry too, it feels so good..
But not next to me.. it might make me cry.

See you on Saturday in the grand finale. Song number 14

Diaspora Jews – Vote for Kobi Marimi, song #14!

In other Kobi Marimi news, Masa Israel – an organization that brings young Jews to Israel from around the world – is doing its part to help Kobi’s Eurovision chances. From an article in The Jerusalem Post:

Masa, a subsidiary of the Jewish Agency, has launched a campaign urging Diaspora Jewry to vote for Kobi Marimi – Israel’s 2019 contestant – and his song “Home.”

Masa said Monday that more than 150,000 graduates of its wide variety of programming are taking part in their campaign to gather votes for Israel at the Eurovision.

Since Israel won the competition last year, it automatically qualifies for the grand finale. So voting for Marimi and Israel – for song No. 14 – will be an option only during the live finale on Saturday, May 18. Israelis are not allowed to vote for Israel, just as every country cannot vote for its own contestant.

While “Home” has been criticized within Israel, dedicated Eurovision fans have praised it. But the song is still ranked in 25th place in the betting charts; only 26 countries will participate in the grand finale.
