Israeli Music Today: Transcript

April 3, 2019: Today in Israeli Music, Ishay Ribo and Natan Goshen kill it in NYC…Koolulam works their magic once again…and Stephane Legar strives to change birthdays in Israel forever. This is MyIsraeliMusic.com, I’m Josh Shron, on the mend from a bout with strep throat, and here’s your Israeli music news for Wednesday, April 3, 2019.

Ishay Ribo and Natan Goshen ROCK New York City

On Sunday night I had the pleasure to attend the Yishai Ribo / Natan Goshen concert in New York, and first of all, wow! I had no idea these guys were so popular in the United States. The energy in the audience was insane, cheering and singing along to every word. Each played for about an hour, and they performed a number of songs together. Here’s a sample.

But here’s the coolest part: After the show, when most artists retreat to their dressing room, Yishai and Natan came out to the lobby to meet fans and take selfies. How cool is that? To say the least, it was a mob scene.

The boys were in LA last night, Miami tomorrow, and in Toronto next Tuesday, April 9th. (As far as I can tell, this show has been canceled. Please contact us if you have more information.)

Koolulam Teams Up with Stephane Legar and Shalva Band

Koolulam is at it again. The mass-singing madness continues with a song to raise awareness and tolerance for children with disabilities. They were joined by Stephane Legar along with 8,000 people to sing a cover of Meir Banai’s “Shiro Shel Shafshaf”.

Koolulam & Stepahne Legar: Shiro Shel Shafshaf

By the way, also in attendance were members of the Shalva Band, the talented group of young musicians who spread awareness for people with disabilities every single day.

Stephane Legar & Ofek HaMalach: Yom Huledet

Speaking of Stephane Legar, he and singer Ofek Hamalach are on a quest to make birthdays much more fun. Their new song “Yom Huledet” may just replace “Hayom Yom Huledet” to become the next big birthday song in Israel.

BTW, my birthday’s coming soon, on April 18th… you know, just FYI.
