The Voca-People Present A History of Music

Before Pentatonix, The Maccabeats, and “Pitch Perfect”, there was The Voca-People.

Israeli, odd, and VERY white, the Voca-People is an acapella group that can transform nearly ANY song into an incredible acapella experience…often without you realizing that instruments have been removed.

When they first arrived on the scene in the early 2000s, the Voca-People’s act was seen as revolutionary. Using a combination of vocals, beat-boxing, and human sound effects, they were among the first to be able to make acapella music sound just like…well, music. Here’s their promo video from 2009.

Since then, a ton of similar groups have popped up around the world. But the Voca-People continue to entertain in their unique style. And we’re proud to call them our own. 🙂

The Voca-People recently joined Hadar Marks on Galgalatz, where they presented an incredible “History of Music”. Don’t miss the video above…I promise you’ll be smiling the whole time. So what if it’s not exactly Israeli music?

As per Hadar’s custom, they also presented an original song about the (horrendous) morning traffic in Israel.

In researching this post, I came across a number of great videos by the Voca-People I hadn’t seen before. Here’s one more that I enjoyed quite a bit: a cool medley of some of TV’s most popular theme songs. How many can you identify?
