Tzachi Halevi and Lucy Aharish: An Israeli Married An Arab, and They Make Beautiful Music Together

He’s a prominent Israeli singer and actor, perhaps best known for his work on “Fauda”. She’s a popular Arab-Israeli television journalist, whose extensive resume includes anchor roles on nearly every television station in Israel.

But they’re probably best known for their private lives. After a secret four-year relationship, Tzachi Halevi and Lucy Ahrish married in October 2018.

Their wedding sparked an uproar in Israel. While the new couple received congratulations from many, they received a large amount of hate mail. In September 2020, the couple announced they were expecting their first child.

Fast forward to December 8, 2020. Just one day after Tzachi won Season 1 of Israel’s “The Masked Singer”, the couple released a single in Arabic, Hebrew and English called “Seen”. The beautiful song was composed by award-winning songwriter Diane Warren, to help promote the new Sophia Loren film, “The Life Ahead”.

Tapped to create an international song of brotherhood and unity, Diane turned to veteran Israeli-born producer Irit TenHengel for help. Irit then identified Halevi and Aharish as a couple who defied the odds to solidify their love, and decided that they were the perfect couple to sing the song.

But there’s more to come, as the song will be released worldwide in February 2021. Lucy and Tzachi will be joined by a third singer yet to be announced, though producers promise it will be a female artist known and loved around the world.

Currently on Netflix, “The Life Ahead” tells the story of a Holocaust survivor running a daycare business, who forms an unlikely friendship with a bitter street kid when she takes him in after he robs her.

According to the press release for the new song, “The life story of Tzachi and Lucy is a living example of the important message of the film, and the joint duet is a combination of people for whom music, emotion, unity and free love are their lot.”

“Seen” by Tzachi Halevi and Lucy Aharish: Lyrics

عم شوف الهدوء في عينيك
عم اسمع البك
الانسان مش شفاف متل البحر
حاسس ما عم شوفك
كل انسان هو عالم كامل
كل انسان الو قيمة
دائما في مين يشوفك

‘CUZ I SEE YOU
AND I SEE TO
WHO YOU ARE
YOU CAN’T HIDE
FROM ME
I WANT YOU TO KNOW
THAT YOU’RE SEEN
I WANT YOU TO KNOW
THAT YOU’RE SEE

‘CUZ I SEE YOU
AND I SEE TO
WHO YOU ARE
YOU CAN’T HIDE
FROM ME
I WANT YOU TO KNOW
THAT YOU’RE SEEN

ALL ALONE
IN THIS WORLD
WE ALL LONG
TO BE HEARD
DON’T THINK
NO-ONE KNOWS
WHAT YOU FEEL
I WANT YOU TO KNOW
THAT YOU’RE SEEN

‘CUZ I SEE YOU
AND I SEE TO
WHO YOU ARE
YOU CAN’T HIDE
FROM ME
I WANT YOU TO KNOW
THAT YOU’RE SEEN
I WANT YOU TO KNOW
THAT YOU’RE SEEN

دائما في مين يشوفك
