New Israeli Music Friday: 2.22.19

A roundup of five new Israeli songs released this week.

Some new Israeli songs we think you should know about. Be sure to listen for more brand new music on this week’s Israel Hour Radio podcast. Shabbat shalom from MyIsraeliMusic.com!

1. David D’or – Mashehu Tov

David D’or – Mashehu Tov

French rap? Check. Attractive dancers? Check. A catchy melody? Check. The title track of David’s new album, “Mashehu Tov” is a pleasant new offering from the veteran Israeli singer. I’ll admit that David D’or has never been on my personal top 10 list of Israeli singers, but I’m enjoying this song so far. Do YOU like it?

2. Lior Narkis – Olam Yafeh V’chadash

Lior Narkis – Olam Yafeh V’chadash

First of all, Lior always looks like he’s having a fantastic time while singing…and that joy certainly comes through in his voice. Second of all, this is a FUN song! I’d love to hear more of this on Israeli radio. Check it out, sing along, and smile.

3. Hadag Nahash & Tzlil Danin – Ana Anachnu

Hadag Nahash & Tzlil Danin – Ana Anachnu

Can you remember the last time Hadag Nahash came out with a ballad? Can you remember the last time the members of Hadag Nahash were singing throughout the song (without rapping)? Me neither. The band says the song is about relationships and love, even when it’s hard I say it’s nice to hear the band trying something new.

4. Stephane Legar – 2019

Stephane Legar – 2019

Will 2019 be Stephane Legar’s year? According to this new song, he sure thinks so. Just a few months after rising to fame in a viral Israeli TV commercial, Legar started 2019 with a starring role in the biggest Israeli single of the year. I’d say he’s off to a good start.

5. Hanan Ben-Ari – Aluf HaOlam

Hanan Ben-Ari – Aluf HaOlam

Love this guy. Hanan Ben-Ari is the coolest kippah-clad crooner I know. He’s got a good voice, tremendous emotion, interesting lyrics, and a memorable melody. What more can you ask for? His latest doesn’t disappoint…check it out.
