This is MyIsraeliMusic.com, I’m Josh Shron, and here’s your Israeli music news for Thursday, February 21, 2019.

We all know that Eurovision 2019 will take place in Tel Aviv this May. Tickets are not yet on sale, but Israeli newspaper Yediot Achronot has done some digging. Tuesday’s paper reports that ticket prices for the Eurovision finale will start at 1,150 shekel, which is about $318 US dollars. So as you can imagine, Israelis did not take the news very well. But if you’re willing to settle for a rehearsal for one of the semi-finals, you can buy a ticket for as little as 350 shekel, which is just under $97 US dollars. Full details at myisraelimusic.com.

Speaking of the Eurovision, Israel’s official entry has been selected – though we won’t hear it until March 10th. The song is called “Home”, and it was written by Ohad Shragai and Inbar Weitzman. Kobi Marimi, Israel’s representative to Eurovision 2019, said he connected with the song right away, and thanked the Eurovision committee for selecting the perfect song for him. So now, we wait…

And finally, a very happy 31st birthday this week to a singer I like a lot, Idan Amedi. The singer and, as I just discovered, actor in Fauda, just released a brand new song called “Ma At Margisha”.

You can hear the full song on our latest podcast episode at myisraelimusic.com.

That’s your Israeli music news for today! I’m Josh Shron, Al Tafsiku Lashir.
