Israel Hour Radio – Episode #1049: Black Voices in Israeli Music

Episode #1039: Black Voices In Israeli Music

Israeli society is as diverse as can be, and nowhere is that diversity more evident than in its music. Mass immigration from Ethiopia in the 80s and 90s produced a long list of talented Black Israeli singers and musicians – many of whom top the Israeli music charts on a regular basis. This week, we’re proud to feature these impressive Black Israeli voices, each of whom has left his or her permanent mark on the land of Israel. Many have also brought their cultures and languages into the national soundtrack, injecting a little bit of the ‘old country’ into mainstream Israeli music. You’ll love learning about these artists, as well as the cultural traditions they bring with them every time they take the stage.
