In Hebrew, ‘Idan’ means era and ‘Eden’ means…well, Eden (or paradise). They’re two of the most popular first names in Israel, and happen to belong to some of Israel’s most talented singers and musicians. So we decided to devote an entire episode to singers named ‘Eden’ – like Eden Alene, Eden Ben Zaken, and Eden Hason – or ‘Idan’ – like Idan Raichel, Idan Amedi, or Idan Yaniv. Who would have thought that this was such a popular name in contemporary Israeli music?
